How Rankings Work

  • DMI score blends total GitHub stars/forks with repo quality (stars per repo) and NPM reach. Hardware-heavy tickers get a slight boost when no NPM packages exist.
  • Grades map score tiers to S/A/B… and inform the momentum signals.
  • Weekly change compares today’s DMI to the last record at least 5 days old. If no week-old data exists yet, we fall back to the oldest available point.
  • Order sorts by DMI, so companies with large footprints (e.g., Intel’s 300+ repos) float to the top even if recent momentum is flat.

  • • NPM Downloads: Weekly downloads of published packages
  • • Repository Quality: Stars per repository ratio

  • • Category Weighting: AI/Software (NPM-focused), Hardware (GitHub-focused)
  • • Quality Factor: Rewards focused, high-quality repositories
  • • Dynamic Discovery: Automatically finds all public repos
💡 Why This Matters: DMI measures developer ecosystem momentum, not just raw numbers. A company with 10 focused repos scoring 1000 stars each ranks higher than one with 1000 repos averaging 10 stars each.

Performance Grades:

• S+ (95+): Superstar performance

• S (90-94): Super performance

• A+ (85-89): Excellent momentum

• A (80-84): Very good momentum

• B+ (75-79): Good momentum

• B (70-74): Above average

• C+ (65-69): Average performance

• C (60-64): Below average

• D+ (55-59): Poor performance
